With the Sales department leading the customer shopping experience, not only do we need to have extensive knowledge of the IKEA product range but we’re constantly finding new ways of making real connections with our customers to maximise sales and profitability within the IKEA Vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people!

This opportunity is Permanent, Part-Time 50 hours/fortnight, based in Marsden Park, NSW. The base hourly rate is $24.93, plus penalties.

- A passion for our home furnishing products and working with customers
- A ‘Togetherness’ mindset where you’ll work closely with your team and other departments yet also be able to work independently
- Creative thinking and a keen eye for aesthetics and detail
- A calm and confident approach along with strong communication and customer skills, ensuring we keep the customer in mind no matter what we do
- Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment and manage your own tasks
- A safe mindset and being comfortable with physical work and manual handling including repetitive heavy lifting.
- Available to work a range of mornings, evening shifts and have full weekend availability (both Saturday & Sunday).
Your responsibilities
As Sales Co-worker, your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Be an IKEA Ambassador by understanding that you impact our customer’s experience by being able to offer solutions and answer questions that relate to their home furnishing needs
- Actively approach customer to identify their needs and advise them on the best solutions for their life at home through home furnishings.
- Being an expert and passionate about the range; and actively learning about their features and benefits
- Responsible for ensuring that the sales area is stocked, presentable, attractively merchandised and correctly priced
- Condensing stock, including unloading pallets and cutting boxes open to restock appropriate products
- Analysing sales space capacities based on system parameters to secure high stock availability
- Stay knowledgeable about in-store specials, delivery options, product features and benefits
- Supporting other Sales areas within the business when required
